ARTIST BIO

Biography

Internationally-recognised, winning over 50 national and international photography awards, Daniel Kneebone has held regular solo and group exhibitions. Most recent exhibition featured artist at the Head On Festival 2020.

Born in Melbourne, Daniel produces stunning digital photographic artworks with meticulous skill to rival those of a acclaimed painters. Influenced by the story-telling abilities of provocative Australian artists - ranging from Norman Lindsay's luscious, physical forms through to explorative photo-based artist Polexini Papapetrou - Daniel uses his detailed artworks to make a statement about facets of life and art about which he is passionate.

Daniel's artworks undergo multiple processes after the initial photoshoot is complete. He does this by combining a strong sense of colour, light, and composition to depict theatrically dramatised characters, which create a sense of wonder and intrigue. With strong influences from pop art, film, and popular culture, Daniel often references women performers and other modern female archetypes.

Daniel is currently represented by the Jackman Gallery, St.Kilda.
