Andrew Lucas was born in Victoria, Australia in 1955. He has painted most of his life, but has worked professionally as a comercial photographer from his early twenties. Following ten years of tutorage under renowned portrait painter, Joseph Attard, Andrew is now devoted to painting portraits in oils, in the realist/impressionist genre. He has held successful solo exhibitions in Eltham, Victoria in 2013, and Hurstbridge in 2015. He now takes portrait commissions on a regular basis.
Andrew's influences include Nicoli Fechin, Carolyn Anderson, Ron Hicks and Mary Qian. He aspires to demonstrate the true worth of the painted portrait to those that haven't necessarily been art lovers. |
