ARTIST NOTES: This portrait is of a lady who used to be a ballet dancer in her younger years. She still is that dancer even though she is no longer dancing. It is in the way she moves, her gentle butterfly like movements, the tilt of her head, her straight posture and the look in her eyes.

ARTIST BIO

Mia is mainly self-taught but has studied under well respected artists such as Geoff Dupree and Ignacio Rojas and has completed several short courses at Melbourne Studio of Art in Elsternwick. She grew up with art in her family as her aunt is a working and exhibited artist in her birth country of Sweden. Mia mainly works in oils but is also a keen sketch artist and sculpts in clay. Her subject interests are mixed and encompasses still-life, portraits, reflections, water abstracts, the human form and faces as well as pets. As an emerging artist, she is always looking to grow and learn and is curretnly completing the final subjects in a Fine Arts Degree in her spare time.
