Exploring a variety of styles with an equal love for acrylics and oils, Julie is elated by the enthusiasm shown toward her paintings. She sold all of her five works at the 2015 Canterbury Art Show, including three on Opening Night, and received commissions during the show. Interest in Julie's work has continued with solid acquisitions of her paintings at the 2016 and 2017 Canterbury Art Show.
Julie had equal success at the 2016 and 2017 Easter Art Shows in Blairgowrie, again with paintings selling quickly on Opening Night and has gone onto exhibit and sell well in many Art Shows, including the Somers Art Show and a 2016 group exhibition titled ‘Society’ at St Kilda Art Gallery, ‘Ministry of Art’.
Julie can’t keep up with the demand for Commission work and this growing enthusiasm in Julie’s work has required her to establish a second art studio at her home in Hawthorn. Mostly she prefers to create her pieces on the Mornington Peninsula at her Blairgowrie based studio, where she draws inspiration from the natural beauty of the area. The vibrant blues and greens of the ocean and other times inspired by the glorious shades our Australian natives, coastal shrubs and tea trees. Either way, Julie loves colour and you are guaranteed to feel uplifted by many of her works.
“I create pieces that work with current interiors, white walls and grey couches, providing a large scale lift of colour to any room”.
