ARTIST BIO

I’ve loved drawing for as long as I can remember and am so grateful that God blessed me with wonderful parents who were extremely supportive of my art, giving me art materials and enabling me to attend a local art class.

When I was 12, a friend gave me a “how-to-draw portraits” book and I began drawing portraits of family members. To this day, people remain one of my favourite subjects to paint.

At age 15, I entered a competition for secondary school students to design the 50 cent coin commemorating the 2006 Commonwealth Games. The Australian public were asked to vote for their favourite out of six shortlisted designs and my       design was the one selected to be minted!

From 2006 to 2012, I travelled to Bairnsdale each week to study art under the tutelage of Jan Long. During this time, with Jan’s encouragement, I began my journey toward a career as a professional artist.

Since then, I have competed successfully at many art shows, winning awards and selling paintings. In May 2012, I was privileged to be one of 50 artists selected to paint a life-sized fiberglass sculpture of Melbourne Zoo’s elephant calf, Mali.

In 2016, I married my husband Mark and moved from the Latrobe Valley to live on a farm in the beautiful South Gippsland hills. Adjusting to married life and starting to teach art classes two days a week meant that painting took a back seat for a while but I have now gladly picked up the brushes and pencils again.

I enjoy working in a wide range of mediums especially graphite, pastel, and oils, which allow me to capture superfine detail in my paintings.

If you would like to commission a painting, enquire about art lessons, or just say hi, I’d love to hear from you!
