ARTIST NOTES: Acrylic on thin side canvas 61x 91 cm unframed. Impressionist contemporary style of a bird in flight.
Use of brushes and palette knife for textural drama to the feathers . I wanted to convey another magpie this time focusing on take off for flying which is the opposite of my other magpie representation just about to land. In both paintings the wings are in an up right position suggestiing an upsurge of tension energy ready to release. I like magpies they’re so interesting and intelligent (even though was once attacked in the park whilst running lapse it was defending its nest) when you observe them they bring reflections we identify with.
